About meHi. My name is Marion. I earned my 200-hour certification in Classical Yoga in 2007, and completed oncology yoga training in 2016.
In 2019 I completed Yoga Nidra Teacher Training, Level 2 and am currently completing requirements for Level 3 which I took in May 2021. (The wildfires were an interruption.) I am a passionate student of yoga and continue to advance my education. I began teaching in 2002 in the style known as Vinyasa Flow. In 2006 I was offered an apprenticeship opportunity in therapeutic yoga. For over eight years I worked in Marin and San Francisco as a substitute teacher in private group classes for cancer recovery, and individual classes for Multiple Sclerosis, Parkinson’s, anxiety, and stroke. |
My personal experiences and limitations influence an emphasis on a safe yoga practice that informs and encourages acceptance and compassion for where each of us is. My motivation is to help others and share hope.
Yoga is awareness, a lifestyle, and a preventative practice, not a quick fix. This gentle approach can ease you into a new life. |
BackgroundThere are many varieties of yoga. Not all are suitable or accessible for everyone. It took me awhile to discern which form best served my needs from a motorcycle accident at age 23.
Yoga and meditation gradually became a daily habit for self-care and mindful re-centering. A therapeutic approach to yoga offers tools to maintain physical fitness, manage anxiety and stresses, and become aware of habits and patterns. |
My programsThe focus is on relaxation, self-awareness, and self-care through specific simple movements and breath. A way to “know thyself” from the inside out. I added Yoga Nidra in 2014 as a powerful main emphasis. My class motto is “feel good.”
Each class or private session is customized to take into account those attending, and designed for incorporating into your lifestyle. I present and adapt my program in a variety of ways for individuals, private groups, for specific conditions, work-place yoga, or as a segment in another program. |
I love nature, all of it, especially trees.
I love art and music. I love quotes. I love life. I love to laugh. |
"Out beyond ideas of wrong-doing and right-doing there is a field. I'll meet you there. When the soul lies down in that grass the world is too full to talk about." Rumi |
